Long-Term RV Rental Delivered to Your Property
By Michael Wojciak, founder, Agile RV Housing
Agile RV Housing rents RVs long term to homeowners whose home is unlivable after a fire, storm, burst pipe, or other covered damage. We deliver a fully set up RV to your own lot, so your family lives at home while the house is repaired. Homeowners insurance usually pays for it through Loss of Use (Coverage D) once your adjuster approves it, and we work with your adjuster. The price is $120 to $140 a night, tax included. Delivery and setup are priced separately for each property. Delivery is about four days from approval to move-in. Stays start at 60 days and run month to month with no maximum. We deliver to homeowners' own property in all 48 contiguous states.
How long-term RV rental works when insurance pays
Long-term RV rental through homeowners insurance follows four steps, and Agile RV Housing handles most of them with your adjuster.
- Ask for the RV. Call us at (614) 655-4286, or ask your adjuster or temporary housing agency for Agile RV Housing by name. The choice of housing provider is yours.
- Written estimate. We send a written estimate to your adjuster or agency. Carriers require one before they approve a placement.
- Written approval. Your adjuster approves the RV in writing before delivery.
- Delivery and setup. Delivery is about four days from approval to move-in. The main variable is scheduling the electrical contractor.
Payment depends on your adjuster. Most adjusters pay Agile RV Housing directly, some pay through an agency such as ALE Solutions, and occasionally the carrier pays the homeowner, who then pays us. Our guide to how homeowners insurance pays for an RV on your property covers each step.
Can you rent an RV for 6 months?
Yes. Agile RV Housing rents RVs for six months and longer. The minimum stay is 60 days, and after that the rental runs month to month with no maximum, so the stay ends when your house is ready rather than on a fixed date. Most families stay about five months.
A six-month stay sits inside the typical Loss of Use time limits that insurers and regulators publish. Florida Peninsula Insurance says HO-3 Coverage D commonly runs up to 24 consecutive months (Florida Peninsula), and the Texas Department of Insurance describes up to 12 months (TDI). Your declarations page sets your own limit. Some counties set a time limit for an RV on a residential lot, and our free zoning check confirms it for your address.
How much does long-term RV rental cost?
Long-term RV rental from Agile RV Housing costs $120 to $140 a night, tax included, for the whole stay. Delivery and setup are priced separately for each property, because they depend on your location and the utility work your lot needs. Setup covers leveling the RV on your lot, power installed by a licensed electrical contractor, and water and sewer connected by our crew. Both are quoted for your property on the written estimate, and homeowners insurance usually pays through Loss of Use once your adjuster approves it.
For a family of up to five, a unit at the top of that range replaces two hotel rooms. Two rooms at typical ALE-approved rates cost more than $140 a night before meals, pet fees, and laundry, so the RV draws substantially less against your ALE limit than an extended hotel stay. Our RV housing cost page walks through the comparison.
Is renting an RV long-term cheaper than an apartment?
Usually not. A fully set up RV delivered to your own lot, with power, water, and sewer connected, is priced as insurance claim housing at $120 to $140 a night, tax included, plus delivery and setup. For long-term living paid out of pocket, an apartment or a long-term space at an RV park is usually the cheaper route.
Agile RV Housing is built for a different situation: a homeowner whose house is being repaired after covered damage, whose homeowners insurance Loss of Use pays for temporary housing, and who wants the family to stay at home instead of in a hotel or an apartment across town. For that family, the comparison that matters is the RV on the lot against two hotel rooms, restaurant meals, and the daily drive back to check on the house.
What comes with a long-term RV rental from Agile RV Housing?
A long-term RV rental from Agile RV Housing arrives ready to live in, set up on your own lot. Every placement includes:
- Delivery to your property.
- Leveling of the RV on your lot.
- Power installed by a licensed electrical contractor, every time.
- Water and sewer hookup, handled by Agile RV Housing.
- A walkthrough of the RV and its systems before you move in.
- Winterization when your location and season need it.
Each RV has a kitchen and separate sleeping space, and pets are welcome. Our RV utility setup page explains the power, water, and sewer work and what your lot needs.
Rent a camper or travel trailer to live in while your house is repaired
Renting a camper or travel trailer to live in on your own property keeps your family at home through a long repair. With an RV from Agile RV Housing on your lot, your kids keep their school and their bus stop, your pets stay with you, and you are there when the adjuster, the contractors, and the inspectors arrive. You cook in your own kitchen instead of eating out every night.
Agile RV Housing sets up the camper on your property with power, water, and sewer connected, and the stay runs month to month after the 60-day minimum. When the house is ready, we pick up the RV. Homeowners insurance Loss of Use (Coverage D) usually pays once your adjuster approves it, and an RV on your own lot is commonly approved even when it is not the first option offered.
Monthly RV rental: how a long stay is priced
A monthly RV rental from Agile RV Housing is priced by the night, at $120 to $140 a night, tax included, for as many months as your repair takes. Delivery and setup are priced separately. After the 60-day minimum, the stay continues month to month with no maximum, and you never sign up for a fixed end date.
Your adjuster approves the stay, and payment goes through your homeowners insurance claim. Most adjusters pay Agile RV Housing directly, and some pay through a temporary housing agency. Ask your adjuster how often the housing approval is renewed on your claim, and keep a copy of every approval and invoice. Our ALE coverage guide explains how Loss of Use is calculated and paid.

Rules for an RV on a residential lot are set locally, by your county or city. Our free zoning check confirms them: enter your address, and our staff confirm the rules within one business day. You choose who provides your temporary housing. Your insurer or its housing agency may suggest a provider, and the choice stays yours. If your insurer uses a temporary housing agency, ask for Agile RV Housing by name. We are a preferred vendor with the national temporary housing agencies, including ALE Solutions, Alacrity, Sedgwick, CRS, and National Corporate Housing, and we work with all of them.

Frequently asked questions
How fast can a long-term RV rental be delivered?
Delivery is about four days from approval to move-in. The main variable is scheduling the electrical contractor. Agile RV Housing sends your adjuster the written estimate first, and delivery is scheduled once the approval is in writing.
Is there a minimum rental period for a long-term RV rental?
Yes. The minimum stay with Agile RV Housing is 60 days. After that, the rental runs month to month with no maximum. Most families stay about five months.
Can the RV go on my own property instead of an RV park?
Yes. Agile RV Housing delivers the RV to your own lot and sets it up there with power, water, and sewer. Local rules for an RV on a residential lot vary, and our free zoning check confirms the rules for your address within one business day.
Who pays for a long-term RV rental after a fire or storm?
Homeowners insurance usually pays through Loss of Use (Coverage D) when a covered loss makes the home unlivable. Your adjuster approves the RV, and most adjusters pay Agile RV Housing directly. We work with your adjuster.
My housing agency offered a hotel or an apartment. Can I ask for an RV instead?
Yes. The choice of housing provider is yours, and an RV on your own lot is commonly approved as Loss of Use housing even when it is not the first option offered. Ask your housing specialist for Agile RV Housing by name. We are a preferred vendor with ALE Solutions, Alacrity, Sedgwick, CRS, and National Corporate Housing.
What happens to the RV in winter?
Agile RV Housing winterizes the RV when your location and season need it, so the water system stays protected through cold weather. The rest of the setup stays the same: power from a licensed electrical contractor, and water and sewer connected by our crew.
Are pets allowed in a long-term RV rental?
Yes. Pets are welcome. Each RV has a kitchen and separate sleeping space, so your family and pets stay together at home.
